Bypassing Huawei E5577 Modem Battery
So, here is the story behind. I have an old modem I used to use daily and put in my tool box since the battery no longer works and I have another method to stay connected to the internet.
But now when I thinking about buying a new one, I tried to find any solutions for the modem. There are two tricks people shared on the internet like dummy battery use, and software modification to bypass the battery, here I’m going to show you how I did it with one tool called (link bellow)
I am using Windows 10 operating system and here are some tools needed to prepare for the process:

After successfully installed the tool, lets run the software and connect the device into computer. As the picture showed bellow, make sure the driver installed and it will show at COM field, the device information and port it connected to. Click on refresh button, then connect button to connect the detected device.
Datalock Modification
Before we jump into the bypassing process, please make sure our device (modem) Datalock flag is 0. To check the value, press button Datalock? and it will show in black colored log field right next to the button. To get full information, click Diagnostic button.
If the returned value of Datalock is 1, then the bypassing process will fail and turned an error message. So, here is how to set the Datalock value to 0.
- Make sure the device connected
- Click Factory button from Set Mode choices
- Click GET NV OEM button, and it will return hash code showing random number
- Click CLEAR NV OEM button, and it will turn hash code showing bunch of zero number
- Then click GET NV OEM button to make sure our Datalock already set to 0
Bypass and Unbypass The Device Battery
To bypass the battery so the device can be use without the battery, here is the step,
- Make sure the device is connected and the Datalock value is 0
- Enter this code into Command field and press Send button at^nvwrex=50364,0,4,01 00 00 00
- If it return OK message, it mean bypassing process success but if it turn Error, then enter this code and press Send button AT^DATALOCK=”00000000", then repeat step #2
To unbypass the device battery, do the same step but put this code on step #2 at^nvwrex=50364,0,4,00 00 00 00
